Technical Note: S100 Overload Stop Mount
SMD manufactures a wide variety of low range force sensors using proprietary thin film strain gauge technology. The long term stability and concise performance of these products is unsurpassed due to our thin-film manufacturing process. The thin film process allows the creation of a high resistance, full bridge without the use of glues and organic materials between the flexure and the metal sensing film. If stresses below the yield point of the host flexure are maintained, these sensors will perform for many million cycles, faithfully retaining their initial zero offset. Your measurements will always be accurate and there won’t be any need for zero re-calibration either before or after an extended test.
Overload Protection Mounts
Allows for the environment needed to preserve the flexure’s integrity, they can be set up to ensure it is never overloaded in compression/tension or side loading modes. The stop mounts are carefully designed for each of the lower force ranges to have properties that ensure the integrity of the sensor, for extended testing or quick mounting, while ensuring the accuracy of your results.
