Bubble Flow Rate
SMD bubble sensors have a specification called “Response Time”, which is the amount of time it takes the sensor to look for a bubble. During the design phase of a project, it is important to ensure that a bubble will not travelling so fast that it can “slip by” the sensor in the amount of time it takes to look for a bubble. This calculator may be used to calculate the distance that a bubble will travel during a given response time with a given tube inside diameter and volumetric flow rate.
If, for example, a bubble will travel .005″ during the Response Time, then the bubble may appear to the sensor to be up to .005″ smaller than it really is. This calculator may be used in conjunction with our Bubble Size Calculator to determine an effective bubble size for a given application.
