Strain Measurement Devices provides a variety of miniature sensors to accurately measure force, pressure, acceleration, and other physical parameters.  Approximately 90% of Strain Measurement Devices' products are custom, these sensors meet the more specialized needs of OEM's.  SMD's engineering team designs custom sensors for unique requirements and aggressive cost targets.  Typical specialized requirements include small sizes, high temperature, low capacities, "Cenelec" dielectric, and overload proof sensors.  Strain Measurement Devices' familiarity with state-of-the-art medical products has led to the development of complete, value-added, SMD produced sub-assemblies, which can incorporate one or more of the following options: sensor signal conditioning, custom and semi-custom ASICs to provide millivolts, Volts, 4-20mA, and digital outputs of various protocols including I2C, SPI. Wireless options including 802.15.4, Bluetooth, Zigbee prototcols and other features are also available.
